Meditation Practice of the Month

First, sit in a comfortable position and observe the following image closely. Avoid rationalizing the image and simply observe it. Once you have memorized the image close your eyes and saturate your thought without dispersion or interruptions. If necessary, consciously ignore anything unrelated to the image.

On the first day train for one minute. Increase the practice time each day by one minute until you reach twenty minutes.

This practice will develop excellent mental discipline, which is a prerequisite to develop self-sufficiency.

Tip: practice with bháva, a Sanskrit term meaning 'feeling, desire, or intention'. Your desire to practice and progress in the technique must be stronger than the desire to pay attention to the things that will distract and sabotage your focus.
